This work was commissioned by Alto Nova Duo to form part of the project Vio-Latino. Its upcoming World Premiere will be at the "49th International Viola Congress 2024" in July, 2024 in Brazil.

UPCOMING WORLD PREMIERE and SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR
The Defiant Magpie for Viola and Piano was commissioned by and composed for the Alto Nova Duo (Emlyn Stam, viola / Sherry Grant, piano). They will offer the World Premiere on July 20, 2024 at the 49th International Viola Congress in Brazil followed by a South American Tour through Brazil, Argentina and Chile. A CD production will follow in 2025.
